My name is Joe Pomponi. I served aboard the
USS Parsons DD-949 from 9/10/63 until 8/28/65. I was a GMG3 when I was
discharged. I was a deck ape under Second Class Mull in First Division for 1
year. Then, I became a gunners mate and my boss was Ralph Warring. We
had mount 51.
We had a First Class named Humphries and one named Slattery. Also
remember a Chief Nolan.
The only person I keep in touch with is Jon Scott, who was mount 52.
I have moved to Port Charlotte, Florida.
