Bill Young

I was overwelmed with joy to find this web page, as my Navy days have become a very important part in my life experiences.

My name is Bill Young.  I joined the Navy in March of 1958 going through boot camp in San Diego, Ca. I am originally from Santa Rosa, California and now reside in Colma,California ... a small town just south of San Francisco.   I entered the crew of the Parsons in 1959 and am honored as being an original plank owner. My duty was 1st Coxin on the Captains' Gig for  CDR Loomis, USN, and Boatsmans Mate for the 1st Division and I still can remember my calls on my pipe. I left the ship in March 1962 leaving many fond and not so fond memories.

We were young once weren't we!!!
