GALLANT LADY

I was just
seventeen years old when I first saw her.
She and her two sisters.
They were sleek
I wondered about her.
At seventeen this was all new to me.
I had never seen anything like Her before.
I wondered what life would be like living with her
and the others she had taken into her fold.
As time went by we became one family,
we knew she would take care of us if we
did the same for her through good times and bad times.
When asked she would give you her all and more.
She would lull you to sleep,
and when necessary awaken you in a very sharp manner.
We were all so proud of her and would defend her at the drop of a hat.
We loved her and it was an honor to be a part of her family.
As time goes by the names and faces of our family fade away but
She will always be remembered as a Gallant Lady.
