Rudderow Class FRAM II (APDs ex-DE Conversions) Color Profiles

We now have full color profiles for the eight Rudderow-class APDs (ex-DEs) converted during the FRAM II modernization program of the 1960s.

The FRAM II configuration is represented by the Kirwin (APD-90) with one single 5-in. gun mount, two twin 20-mm gun mounts, two triple MK 32 torpedo tube mounts, one MK 9 depth charge release track. The following ships are available in this configuration:

USS Ruchamkin (APD-89)
USS Kirwin (APD-90)
USS Beverly W. Reid (APD-119)
USS Diachenko (APD-123)
USS Begor (APD-127)
USS Cook (APD-130)
USS Balduck (APD-132)
USS Weiss (APD-135)

Editor's notes: 1. APD-89 and APD-135 had their pole foremasts replaced with tripods for better support of their ECM antennas. 2. Cargo booms were eventually eliminated in all units. Specify your preference or cargo booms will be shown in your print. 3. These ships were reclassified as LPR (Amphibious Transports [Small]) with the same hull numbers on 1 January 1969.
