USS Fletcher
Class DD/DDE (ASW Conversions) Color Profiles
We now have full color profiles
for the seventeen Fletcher-class destroyers that were converted to destroyers,
escort-type (DDE) on 26 March 1949 and 2 January 1951 and reclassified
destroyers (DD) on 30 June 1962. This type is available in two basic
configurations: Group A and Group B. NOTE: Group A -
Original is illustrated here.
Group A
This group covers
two basic configurations: original - with two
5-in./38 cal. single MK 30 gun mounts, two 3-in./50 cal. twin MK 27/33 gun
mounts, one MK 15 trainable Hedgehog mount, four 21-in. Mk23 fixed torpedo
tubes, one MK 9 depth charge release track, pole foremast with SPS6 and SPS10
radars, and QHB sonar. Improved - one MK 108 rocket
launcher vice MK 15 hedgehog, and two 12.75-in. triple MK 32 torpedo tubes
added. NOTE: please state which configuration you want, if
you do not specify the IMPROVED version will be supplied.

Group B
This group covers two basic
configurations: original - with two 5-in./38 cal.
single MK 30 gun mounts, two 3-in./50 cal. twin MK 27/33 gun mounts, one MK 15
trainable Hedgehog mount, four 21-in. Mk23 fixed torpedo tubes, one MK 9 depth
charge release track, tripod foremast with SPS6 and SPS10 radars, and QHB sonar.
Improved - one MK 108 rocket launcher vice MK 15
hedgehog, and two 12.75-in. triple MK 32 torpedo tubes added.
