US NAVAL DISPATCH: USS GATLING DD 671 PARTICIPATED IN OPERATION MAINBRACE 13-25 SEPTEMBER 1952: FIRST NORTH ATLANTIC TREATY ORGANIZATION JOINT FLEET MANEUVERS AND EXERCISE PLUS TRANSIENT OPERATIONS "GANNETT" AND "EMIGRANT" RESPECTIVELY, BETWEEN 26 AUGUST AND 13 OCT 1952, AS A MEMBER OF THE CREW OF THE USS GATLING DD 671, PART OF THE LOGISTIC SUPPORT FORCE (REPLENISHMENT GROUP) AND LATER OF THE SURFACE SUPPORT FORCE.

DURING THE MAINBRACE OPERATION, USS GATLING CROSSED THE ARCTIC CIRCLE AT LATITUDE 66D 33' AND LONGITUDE 8D ON 16 SEPTEMBER 1952 TO BECOME A MEMBER OF THE "ORDER OF BLUE NOSES"
