Highlights
On Tuesday everyone arrived. There was an eveing reception at the bar with light appetizers in the lobby. On Wednesday, there was a bus trip to the National Museum of the United States Air Force, Wright-Paterson AFB, OH. Upon arriving, we had a memorial service at the AFB Memorial Park recognizing shipmates that had passed since last years meeting. We had lunch at the museum. In the afternoon, we boarded the bus for a short ride to visit America’s Packard Museum. There were cars from the early 1900’s through the 1950’s. After that, we oarded the bus for a ride to the Historic Folden Lamb Restaurant in Lebanon, OH where it had served many distinguished guests. We had a wonderful three course dinner and then returned to the hotel. On Thursday, we visited many sights in Covington, Newport, and Cincinnati. Some took the riverboat cruise, others played golf, attended the Reds game, etc. In the evening, there was an informal gathering at the Hofbrauhaus in Newport, KY for beer and German food in the garden. On Friday, the business meeting was held fllowed by an auction. At the meeting it was proposed that the next reunion be held in Buffalo, NY. That evening a dinner was held in a hotel banquet room where we were entertained by the magical talents of Earl Faust. On Saturday, we all enjoyed breakfast and there many fairwells as we departed for home.
