Highlights
The ‘ships company’ and guests visited Battleship Cove, Fall River, MA; Plymouth Plantation and Plymouth Rock; and National Association of Destroyer Veterans office/museum/store, Somerset, MA. During our luncheon aboard the USS Massachusetts BB-59, “Plank Owner” Normand Dooley, RD3 (45-46) spoke on the World War II service of USS Myles C. Fox DD-829. The banquet was held at White’s of Westport with ten members of the family of 1st Lt. Myles Crosby Fox, USMC in attendance. Several of whom spoke about their uncle, a war hero, and his service to our Country. The Fox family presented a book “The Yard: Building a Destroyer At The Bath Iron Works” by Michael S. Sanders to the association. The next reunion will be in April 2020 at New Orleans, LA. Shipmates and guests came from: California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Virginia.
