Charles John Duffy, born 31 December 1919 in New York City, enlisted in the Naval Reserve 25 April 1941 and was appointed an aviation cadet 13 November 1941. Flying a carrier aircraft. Ensign Duffy was killed in action during the Naval Battle of Casablanca, French Morocco, 8 November 1942 during the landings on north Africa.


Disposition:

Loaned to Britain 28 August 1943 and named Dacres. Stricken 12 Apr 46. Returned to the United States and sold 14 December 1946.
