Highlights
Manager’s reception on Wednesday evening: fantastic bus trip on Thursday to the Navy Yard (Old Philadelphia Naval Base) including a visit to the Chapel of the Four Chaplains. Lunch at Lo Spiedo (old USO building), then over to Camden, NJ for guided tour of the USS New Jersey. Friday motorcycle ride to Rehobeth Beach, Delaware, and Wilmington Blue Rocks minor league baseball game that evening. Saturday morning we had our association officers meeting, directly followed by regular membership meeting. Out banquet, held at the hotel, featured fantastic food and live music by Big Bang. Blessing was given by active duty Air Force Staff Sergeant Justavo Colon, friend of the reunion host. Fallen soldiers table was set and photographed frequently. Finally on Saturday evening, we held our Chinese Auction, enjoyed each others company, and sampled numerous libations that had mysteriously appeared in our hospitality room. A wonderful time was had by all. The USS Dahlgren Association will convene again in Colorado Springs, Colorado in August 2018.
