In conjunction with Tin Can Sailors Miami, Florida, October, 2017
The USS Keppler DD/DDE-765 was proudly represented at the 2017 Tin Can Sailors Reunion in Valley Forge, PA. Many are looking forward to the 2018 Tin Can Sailors reunion in Buffalo, New York.
In addition, the USS Keppler DD-DD-765 had a successful annual reunion in 2017 with a total of 27 people meeting in Miami, Florida, after Hurrican Irma on October 5, 2017, at the Holiday Inn located directly across the street from the Bayside marketplace. On October 6th, the group went on a tour of the South Beach area followed by a delicious lunch. The tour ended with a 90-minute tour of Biscayne Bay. Then, on Saturday morning, our group left on a fantastic 8-night cruise aboard the Carnival Vista to the Dominican Republic (2 ports), Aruba and Curacao. While on the cruise, our groupp gathered for a business meeting as well as our annual Memorial service. In addition, Carnival conducted a memorable and poignant tribute to all branches of the U.S. Military.
For 2018, the USS Keppler DD/DD-765 will set sail from New York City on a 7-night voyabe to Bermuda on May 20, 2018; a day or two prior to that cruise, our group plans to gather at a hotel in New Jersey.
