Highlights
The 2019 USS Meredith Reunion was held in Charleston, SC on October 16th-20th. On arrival day Wednesday, we held the Welcome Dinner at the Charleston Crab House on Johns Island for a crab, shrimp and fish dinner. After breakfast Thursday morning we hopped on the bus for a city tour of Charleston, lunch and free time at the Old City Market. We had a free day Friday before our banquet that evening where we honored out shipmates that had passed this past year. After breakfast Saturday morning, we boarded the bus for Patriot’s Point to tour the USS Yorktown and Fort Sumter. It was a rainy day and I’m sure we would have toured the fort a lot more in detail if it hadn’t rained. We had lunch in the Chief Petty Officers Galley on the Yorktown. Of course, what seems to be the highlight of the reunions is the hospitality room where we enjoy reuniting with friends and shipmates, and our snack and beverages. The 2020 reunion will be held at the Holiday Inn Downtown in the Mobile, AL Historic District. The dates will be October 28-November 1, 2020. The hotel is located at 301 Government St. in Mobile, AL.
